Photo Diary: June 2015

For those of you who used to read my first blog, Yazzy's Corner, you'll know that I posted a monthly photo diary to give a roundup of what I'd been up to that month. That blog has now been taken offline and even though this blog in intended to share my work, I thought that it could be a good idea to start posting photo diaries to add that personal touch to my blog and to share little snippets into my life. I'm not sure how often I'll post these but I'll try to post them every month from now on.

First up I'm sharing some non-photography related stuff. I've been enjoying a few days out with my friend this month. There's nothing better than road trips to a destination that's less than an hour away! What better way to enjoy this glorious weather? It beats being stuck indoors all the time. Firstly, we went to Ironbridge. On the way there we stopped at the Woodbridge pub for a little drink and some fresh air. The views were great from here, and everyone was sitting outside enjoying the sun. We then headed to Ironbridge and spent a lovely few hours wandering around. While having a nosey in the shops, I spotted illustrations by Paint Pallet who designed my blog banner from Yazzy's Corner last year. Once we were done here, we headed back to the Woodbridge pub where we enjoyed their lovely food! Honestly, it was one of the most delicious food I've ever had and I'm looking forward to going back (I'll be sure to take photos next time!).

Twycross Zoo

About a week later my friend and I planned another day out, this time to Twycross Zoo! I normally go to Dudley Zoo so it was a nice change to head here. The zoo was larger but I can't say I preferred Twycross over Dudley because there were different variety of animals there, so I like both. My favorite animal was of course the leopards! I'm cat crazy so I was looking forward to seeing these the most. Once we'd had a look around we headed back to Birmingham to munch because the food was so expensive at Twycross.

Shoots, Shoots and More Shoots

I've been keeping myself busy with shoots since breaking up from uni because I want to practice as much as I can to get experience. Above I've shared photos from two shoots, one is my favourite and the other is my least favourite. My fave shoot was done with Sophie ETC at the Custard Factory. We found this amazing wall art that we just had to use and it matched her Boohoo clutch bag perfectly! My least favourite shoot of the month has got to be the one I did behind the scenes of a fashion show being organised by the university. I stepped in last minute, and although every experience is good experience at this point in my career, I highly doubt I'll be doing shoots like this again. Find out why here.

A few randoms of the month now and I found my very first camera! I bought this back in 2007 when I was studying Art & Design at college. This was also the camera I used when I started blogging to in 2013. I started my new job - and I was dreading it! I hunted out my old watch and bought my uniform and it made me feel so sad to be going back to a job I don't enjoy. But it's only for the time being. Read more about my thoughts on going back to a job I don't like here. I started reading Zoella's book Girl Online, and its been a great read so far. I feel that a lot of women out there can relate to Penny's character one way or another. Lastly my cat has been enjoying the sunshine in the garden and he's always so sleepy these days too, he also didn't look like he was in the mood to have his photo taken!

That's it for this months roundup, I'm looking forward to doing more posts like these in the future. What have you been up to in June?
